YOU'RE WORTH IT PROGRAM
This six-hour program builds women’s confidence, assertiveness, leadership, integrity and interpersonal skills. Using a strength-based approach, women are prepared to bridge the gap from shelters and transitional programs to education/training and the job search process.
The goal of the You’re Worth It program is to assist participants with multiple barriers to develop the skills to achieve social and economic self-sufficiency. The program will help participants to: Determine the connections between self-esteem and economic self-sufficiency; Identify the six elements of self-esteem to personal and financial accountability; Identify and apply the components of competence and worthiness to personal and financial accountability; Build self-esteem through practice and diverse activities; Use a variety of tools to identify strengths and accomplishments; connect accomplishments to the interview process; Build self-esteem through assertiveness self-assessment; connect self-esteem elements of intention and integrity to personal and financial accountability; identify thoughts that propel you toward and that hinder you from reaching your goals; Identify your beliefs about money and the impact on your job search; apply the power of affirmations to transform limiting beliefs; participate in a guided visualization to discover a symbol of validation and inspiration.
The You’re Worth It Program consists of the Following Modules:
Workshop #1: Program Introduction / Foundations of Self-Esteem | Part 1
Learn the definition of self-esteem. Identify the six elements and two components of self-esteem and learn how to apply them to a job/career search. Explore the self-esteem element of awareness and participate in exercises to increase self-awareness.
Workshop #2: Foundations of Self-Esteem | Part 2
Explore the self-esteem elements of acceptance and accountability. Learn about locus of control and how developing an internal locus of control can help in job/career search. Participate in exercises focused on the practice of acceptance and accountability.
Workshop #3: Building Confidence: Strengths and Accomplishments | Part 1
Identify strengths and accomplishment as well as skills associated with accomplishments. Learn how to categorize and describe types of skills.
Workshop #4: Building Confidence: Strengths and Accomplishments | Part 2
Learn additional ways to describe skills and accomplishments. Explore ways to present stories for job interviews that provide concrete examples of skills and how they are utilized to create positive outcomes. Assess assertiveness skills and learn how to become more assertive in the job search process.
Workshop #5: A Mindset for Success and Self Esteem | Part 1
Learn how to develop a mindset for success. Apply the power of affirmations to transform limiting beliefs. Develop positive self-talk and the voice of the inner coach. Learns ways to address negative self-critical thoughts.
Workshop #6: A Mindset for Success and Self Esteem | Part 2
Connect self-esteem elements of intention and integrity to the job search process. Review resources for developing and maintaining a positive mindset.
