Dr. Maxine A. Ruddock, is a Clinical Psychologist licensed in both Florida and New York.
She received her B.A. degree in Psychology from The State University of New York at Buffalo, her M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Long Island University, and her Master’s and Ph.D. degrees in Clinical Psychology from Fielding Graduate University. Dr. Ruddock completed her doctoral internship with the Nova Southeastern University’s Consortium at Broward General Medical Center where her training consisted of a pediatric and adult rotation. She then completed a post-doctoral supervised year at Anthony House in Central Florida.
Dr. Ruddock is the founder and clinical director of Comprehensive Psychological & Assessment Services (CPAS), a mental health practice dedicated to assisting others to “CPAS” their difficulties to a brighter day. Services are provided to adults, children, couples and families experiencing mental health difficulties such as depression, anxieties, phobias and other emotional disorders. She also developed a practicum program that provides training for masters and doctorate level students. In providing treatment, Dr. Ruddock places a strong focus on the mind-body connection, and on balancing the physical, emotional, social and spiritual aspects of the whole person. Dr. Ruddock is particularly interested in women’s issues, relationship issues (divorce, domestic violence) and in providing professional and personal coaching that transforms people’s lives.
Dr. Ruddock is an accomplished speaker and lecturer and has conducted seminars and educational presentations on dozens of mental health and wellness topics for medical students, schools, corporations, other mental health professionals, and the general community. Dr. Ruddock was a contributing writer on mental health topics for Healthy Living Magazine, was featured as a “Business Woman of Style” in Style magazine and as a “Woman To Watch” in the Orlando Woman Newspaper. She has also served as an adjunct professor at Valencia Community College and taught career development workshops to business professionals. She is also a member of the National Association of Professional Women where she was nominated for the award of outstanding businesswoman, The African American Chamber of Commerce, The Christian Chamber of Commerce, and served on the board of the Central Florida International Black Women’s Congress. She is a current Board member for the Center for Independent Living (CIL) and Samaritan Village. Dr. Ruddock is also the founder of Sisters Of the Spirit, an organization with a mission to empower women to become self-sufficient through starting and growing their own legacy based businesses.
Dr. Ruddock’s most cherished title is Child of GOD and her faith in and love for CHRIST serves as the “lamp and light” for all she does. In her leisure time she enjoys reading, “hanging out” with her three sons when they let her, long drives to nowhere with her husband of 25 years while listening to jazz, and having conversations with her plants while gardening.
